Story told by Barbara’s mom

When their family got to the final embarkation point, the Nazi in charge said everyone had to sign his or ner own name. Of course Barbara couldn’t (although she was an unusually gifted human being!). After a lot of talk and, probably, pleading, he finally let her mother hold her hand and guide It while Barbara “signed.” It was very frightening for all of them!
