what we built
Creating a Legacy website. At Placing Stones, we believe in celebrating life, preserving voices, and creating lasting connections. Our platform is thoughtfully designed to make it easy for individuals and families to build a digital legacy—a living archive of stories, memories, and experiences that can be cherished for generations. With our intuitive tools, you can effortlessly create your own legacy library, giving seamless access to treasured moments and milestones. Take a quick look at our platform to see how simple it is to bring stories, photos, and voices together in one meaningful place. Placing Stones is easy to use—but the impact lasts a lifetime.

My father died in an era before digital cameras, so I saved a collection of loose photos in a shoebox. My father was cremated, and I found that as I got older, that shoebox helped me connect with him. But as that shoebox became more important to me—it was also more painful to open and a reminder of how few physical memories I had saved. So now, I treasure each photo and memory that I can share with my daughters.
My mom died when I was 15. I have many fond memories of her, and I have made several deliberate choices to keep the flame of those memories bright. At home, I framed family photos, I cook her recipes, I hang her artwork, and I sprinkled my shelves with her collected treasures. These touchpoints bring me joy and tears, and they remind me of her kindness and wisdom. These are the stones I place, and they shape who I am—as a wife, mother, sister, and friend.
who we are
“You do not know how much they mean to me, my friends, and how, how rare and strange it is, to find in a life composed so much, so much of odds & ends…”
TS Eliot
