Stuart O. Schweitzer
Distinguished American professor based for several decades at UCLA, devoted his academic career to economic studies with a particular focus on health industries (biotech and pharmaceutical), innovation, and industrial policy. His studies were driven by a deep passion for research and knowledge, by a profound intellectual curiosity and by a strong openness to international experiences. In teaching and conducting research, he mentored and collaborated with young scholars across several countries and different interdisciplinary backgrounds. Professor Schweitzer spent a great deal of time in Italy, collaborated with Italian scholars, and demonstrated a special interest for the Italian economy, economic policies, and politics.
